About Mary Beth Briscoe:
Ms. Briscoe served as a voluntary Chairman of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2007-08 term, beginning June 1, 2007.
Ms. Briscoe is CFO, University Hospital, UAB Health System, Birmingham, Alabama.
A member of HFMA since 1984, Ms. Briscoe's involvement with the National Association includes serving on the Managed Care Forum Advisory Council (1996-99), the National Advisory Councils (1999-00), the Board of Directors (2000-03 and 2005-08), as chairman of the Audit & Finance Committee (2005-06), as chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee (2006-07), and the Executive Committee (2005-08), served as chairman in 2007-08. Ms. Briscoe also served the Alabama Chapter as Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, President-Elect, and President. She has received the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, Muncie Gold, and Medal of Honor merit awards.
Ms. Briscoe, a Fellow of HFMA, a Fellow of The American College of Healthcare Executives, and a Certified Public Accountant, earned her BS degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and her MBA from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
